Microblading Q&A

Also known by a variety of names such as embroidery, microstroking, feather touch and hair like strokes, is a form of permanent makeup that provides a means to partially or fully camouflage missing eyebrow hair with the appearance of simulated hair using fine deposits of cosmetic tattoo pigments. Microblading will leave you with beautiful sculpted natural looking brows that you’ll never need to pencil in again.

Eyebrow Microblading is performed by manually depositing pigment in the basal layer of the epidermis by a special pen. It does not involve the use of a machine. Unlike permanent makeup brow treatments, Microblading techniques involves drawing individual, crisp hair strokes that are more natural looking than tattooing, brow pencils or powders. The blade of Microblading pen contains numerous pins that are 3 times thinner than the needles used for tattooing. When performed correctly, the procedure is almost painless. Technicians usually use a numbing solution to limit discomfort.

There are basic guiding principles for creating the perfect eyebrow – measurements involving the spacing and the relationship between space, angles of the face, the nose, and the eyes as to where the brows should begin, end and where it should arch. However, there’s a great variance between different faces and how brows suites each – there is no one “perfect brow” for all. We will take some basic measurements of your face, look at symmetry (no one is perfectly symmetrical, not even supermodels) and work out the best way to balance your face. We engage a conversation to understand what you are used to, what your personal makeup style is, and your color preferences. Sometimes some subtle changes are made to shape and color, if we think this could achieve a better result. We will always show you the drown shape and color, before we begin the procedure, for your approval.

This is dependent on many factors, such as: * the pigment used – darker pigments ~ very dark brown lasts a lot longer than lighter shades. * The density of pigment ~ a treatment that has been reinforced with a second adjustment appointment, will usually be longer lasting. * Environmental factors such as exposure to UV light. Tanning and not using sun protection will fade the color faster. * Your health and overall individual phycology – some people retain pigment extremely well. Generally, is considered semi-permanent and average results last about 1-2 years.

Usually around 2 hours. Often for the first procedure, the longest part of the appointment can be the consultation and drawing on the brow shape – We will always spend time getting them as symmetrical and as close to perfect as possible, with your approval, before Microblading procedure begins. The actual Microblading rarely takes longer than 60 minutes. When you make your appointment, we will discuss the time needed and make sure there is plenty of time for you to ask questions and for us to discuss the look you are after.
